I watched her walk out of the ballroom pretty quickly. I was confused and worried.

I couldn't control my feet.

I was following behind her, opening the door and stepping out of the ballroom as well.

I saw her heading somewhere.

I bet it's the library.

I kept following her, cussing benieth my breath.

As soon as I saw the library near I knew she was heading there, so I slowed down my pace a bit.

When she walked into the library, I walked into the room soon after.

She was sitting next to one of the tables, I could even hear her breathing so heavily.

When I walked in her gaze turned to me. She seemed calmer now.

" I apologize if I did anything uncomfortable-" I was cut off by her angelic voice.

" I apologize for running off like that... You didnt do anything wrong. I really enjoyed the dance. " She said pulling on a smile. I could clearly see that's it was.

Fake.

I walked up to her and sat down next to her, keeping a proper distance between the both of us.

It was quiet, but the music from the ballroom was slightly hearable.

"You don't need to smile, I can easily see through you... " I whisperd. But she could hear.

I was looking down, but I knew that she stopped smiling

"Wow... No one has ever figured me out " She said and let out a soft gigle.

We both then kept quiet for a few minutes. Before I couldn't keep quiet anymore.

" May I ask. Why did you run off? " I said, she seemed to tense up a bit. I finally looked up at her. She seemed much calmer and relaxed now.

She stayed quiet for a bit before taking a deep breath "I got scared " She said, but she smiled, a genuine smile.

" Scared of what? " I asked looking straight at her again. She was looking at me.

" Everyone's gaze. It terrifies me to be the middle or attention. All of those eyes straight at me.. " She said quietly and looked away. Ashamed of herself.

I was the one who asked her to dance with me. In the middle of the dance floor. I messed up, she probably was terrified the entire time.

" But the dance... When I was dancing with you, it seemed like everyone was gone " She said, I could even hear the smile in her tone.

" I'm glad. " I said with a soft smile, still looking at her, and she looking at me.

" We should really get back, it's my birthday one way or the other. " She said with a sigh and got up.

I got up as well and sighed " Next time you should talk to your father about this. " I said and fixed up my suit a bit.

" I'll try. Thanks. " She said and slightly bowed her head.

We got back to the ballroom.since then we didn't talk or cross paths.

The day passed and got to an end. Some people leaded us to our rooms for the night. When I walked into the room. My family was there.

Wilbur and Tommy.

I groaned and walked out of the room before Tommy opened it the door and pulled me in.

" Running away from your dearest family hm? " Wilbur asked softly and stood up as well, walking to me And patting my head.

Wilbur was the eldest of us. He had his own kingdom, lead with his wife queen sally.

Tommy was the youngest. He was living with his parents.

Ah yes. I told you this was family. We are family but not genetically.

We all have seperate families. But we all are so close that were basically brothers. And we all have a dear friend who is like a father to all of us. He didnt show to the ball. It was an emergency.

" Isn't only family supposed to share rooms?" I asked, pretty annoyed.

"Well we are family! Well, not genetically" Tommy mumbled and crossed his arms before flopping down on his bed.

"Where even are your parents Tommy. Your to young to be here alone. " I said and walked away from Wilbur to my bed.

" His parents asked me to watch him. They were busy. " Wilbur said and sat down on his own bed.

"Now for the question everyone had been waiting for. What's up with you and the birthday princess? " Tommy asked. I immediately took a deep breath so that I wouldn't rip off his head and stood up before heading to the restroom so that I could change.

"You didn't awnser my question! " Tommy yelled. But I just ignored him.

Oou- this chapter might be messy and not understandable. But I didn't really have a plan when writing this so. Yeah.
